So, Now What? Bio and Introduction

So, Now What? by Carol Fishman
Having a big birthday was an eye-popping, are you kidding me, what the...event for me. How did this happen? I still feel like I’m in my 40s-until I look in the mirror or am forced to make adjustments to my yoga practice or my gardening habits because of rebellious knees and a cranky back.
This birthday made me stop and examine what this next stage of life will look like-what I want to look like-how I want to live at this time of my life not confined by schedules and routines.
I know I’m not alone in this so I hope you join my dear friend Leona and me as we try to make sense of it all. We will explore how to keep it interesting, share styles, passions, conversations and experiences of fabulous women over 60 who we will introduce you to along the way.

Carol
I was born and raised in New Jersey and may still be a Jersey girl at heart. My adult life was spent in coastal Connecticut married to a wonderful guy. I had a career in event management which I loved and afforded me lots of travel opportunities and interactions with interesting people. Ten years ago, my husband and I retired, decided it was time for a new adventure, sold our home and moved to beautiful North Carolina.
As we all know life can sometimes get ahold of us and test our very limits of survival. Mine did just that when David passed away 7 years ago. It’s been a painful difficult journey to find joy and peace in life once again-and I’ve managed it and here I am. Grateful to be here, grateful to have been so loved, grateful for friends and family but ready to have a big new 70-year old exciting life.  So, Now What?
